Here is where I'm at with Cheap Red Wine. I have wrote some little stories that go along with the brand. I reworked the art direction (see photo) I'm thinking of instead of doing a third add it should be something more interactive.

Based off of my the main idea I've got going for my campaign, that being that Cheap Red Wine is "conversations in a bottle." I was thinking a great way to get some buzz for the brand would be to host the "Winey Wirters" compititon. Since the brand is aimed at a young, hip, art schooly crowd it's safe to say that there more then a few up and coming ( or not so up and coming) fiction writers drinking this stuff ( and so are their friends) So there could be a website were the writers submit short stories based around their experiences with cheap red wine. It could be user-driven votes that pick the finalist, which would then be printed in a zine-style book that comes along with a special edition of cheap red wine. let me know what you guys think of this idea/ if you have anyting else to add to it.

Could have simply said ‘Organic greens are $2.99’ but the writer made it fun and engaging:

Who cares how you say it in french when organic extra fine green beans are only $2.99?

Could have simply said that ‘brie is only $6.99.’ The writer again goes an extra mile to make the headline fun. Not the duel play on the word ‘fancy’. That’s copywriting at its best.

This a print ad for Penguin Books and as an avid reader i have to say i really love them; they sum up what the experience of reading in general. also i like the art direction of the ad too and the overall quiet serene.

this commercial for ikea is hands down one of my favorite. it's well done, witty, and communicates the USP really well. also this website http://www.hotel626.com/ is an interactive online haunted house that Goodby host every halloween. thier really really freaky and you can still check out the past two years virtual haunted houses. i recommend doing it with a friends with all the lights off for effect haha

Thought this was kind of cool. I found this in "Living Without Magazine" and this ad really showed that they know their audience. One of the worst parts of having food allergies is not necessarily when you react, it's when you have to sit at a table with family and friends and can't eat anything. Food allergy people are pretty big skeptics, especially when a big company claims to be gluten-free. But by showing this scenario, I think it makes them seem more trustworthy.

For me, relevancy is one of the most important things in advertising. Therefore, I this week want to relate to the homework which was especially interesting since it helped me find that I have a twin brother named Kash Sree and that we where separated at birth. Here are some of the ads that he made for Nintendo and Nike. The cool thing about these are that they tell a story, not directly about the product, but indirectly through lifestyle.

LOST Target Ads

I really love these ads. They played during the series finale of LOST and I found myself really looking forward to seeing them during the commercial breaks. Out of context, they totally wouldn't work, but because of the die-hard nature of LOST fans, it was great. I certainly was thrilled with Target's little geeky ad campaign.

For sentimentality and the human touch, Ebay's "The Power of Us" campaign really takes the cake. This one in particular ACTUALLY made me create an Ebay account and buy shit. It's a full story in 1 minute!

For simple, brilliant humor. John Smith Beer's "No Nonsense" campaign, from England, takes the cake for me.

On the opposite end of the spectrum is the Levi's Go Forth campaign. They did a great job of creating the sense of freedom that comes with being young. It doesn't hurt that they got Cary Fukunaga (Sin Nombre) and M. Blash (Lying) to direct these spots.

The Red Stripe Hooray Beer commercials have always been a favorite of mine. I love how they get away with these kind of back handed compliments and still appeal to the people they insult.

This is, by far, my favorite commercial.

Just like the Bruce Campbell/Old Spice ad, I remembered this one because of how funny it is. This commercial has to be 12-15 years old and it's still stuck in my head because of how hard I laughed the first time I saw it.

Thought I'd start off by sharing one of my favorite ads.

This is the Bruce Campbell "Experience Is Everything" ad for Old Spice. This was one of the first ads from Old Spice where we see the oddball humor that they've become known for in the past three years.

The ad isn't really saying anything about the product at all, it's more selling a vibe or an attitude. It's selling confidence, but in a way that isn't too serious. Mostly, I remembered this ad because it made me laugh.
